About Us

Dear Community,

We hope this day finds you and yours well during these unprecedented times. Now more than ever, there is a great demand for accessible therapists of color. So often we hear things like, "I don't know where to begin," "will people think I'm crazy if I get a therapist?," or "how do I find a Black therapist” a "Black male therapist," a couples counselor, a grief counselor," etc.? We, Ericka S. Pinckney, Ph.D., LPC, NCC, and Rosanne G. Johnson, MEd, LPC, NCC, are the creators of Black Therapists of Central PA. As highly experienced professionals, we understand our Black communities' unique mental health needs. We have created this space to help bridge the gap between those community needs and access to licensed and pre-licensed mental health professionals.

Black Therapists of Central PA has several objectives:

  1. Provide a culturally specific mental health referral source; via our website
  2. Provide  psycho-educational resources
  3. Featured clinicians complete a registration form to verify credentials to provide professional, ethical service.
  4. Clinicians are encouraged to join our closed Facebook group;  were clinicians build a unified front to present to the public while maintaining and celebrating professional and practice individuality https://www.facebook.com/group...
  5. Joining our network offers clinicians free professional listing on our website at this time

For clinicians, some other benefits of joining our network include professional clinician empowerment, support, and virtual/live meetups. We are passionate about bridging the gap between community need and access to Central Pennsylvania licensed and pre-licensed clinicians.

Best,

Ericka and Rosanne
